I am finding my approach to art to be oddly scientific.
The materials I am using are simple. The logic I am developing and the processes I am using are allowing for a fast development of ideas and making.
I use real objects and it is important to me to still be able to recognise them but I also want to give them a new identity, a new meaning.
I want people to know the environment they come from and identify what they used to be. From bottles, bottle caps to wire or familiar things, they mutate into something new; objects which exist by themselves or tell a new tale.
I am particularly interested in systems and patterns, in ways to make sense of the world surrounding me. One unit becomes many. The transformation is physical and the work presented finished is fully formed, yet waiting in a latent stage and ready to multiply and transform like culture cells again.
My work was introduced as part of a group show at Torre Abbey Contemporary Open (TACO) in 2010. I regularly take part in Open Studios from my London based space.
